Award Winning Highfield Hall
WW Reich, Inc. was the Construction Manager for the $4.5 million Award Winning Renovation of Historic Highfield Hall in Falmouth, MA.
Starting in the fall of 2005, WW Reich assumed the responsibilities of developing an estimate, construction plan and schedule for a stagnant project that was in need of leadership. With WW Reich on board, the funding process accelerated as the project was rekindled under its professional direction.
Architect Noah Greenberg teamed up with Project Manager Bill Reich and Project Superintendent Bill Baker to perform needed structural repairs to firm up the building and waterproof the foundation. Structural framing was added to stiffen the building’s spine. Then came the introduction of modern mechanical, electrical, fire protection and HVAC systems, all while keeping a close watch on the historic integrity of the building.
- A four-stop elevator was built into the center of the structure, requiring extensive structural framing to the building’s time-period core framing and to the roof line.
- The wrap-around rear porch columns elements were built by copying era photographs of the original building elements and re-built until they fit the architect’s approval.
- Windows, doors and hardware were meticulously refinished one panel and pane at a time.
- Floors were stripped and re-finished, new oak and cherry floors installed.
Today, Highfield Hall stands as a cultural and educational center, as well as a beautiful venue for weddings. Professional offices are in the upper floors, and as a proud testament to our craftsmanship, the headquarters of WW Reich, Inc.
